Structuring Power without creating Politics

In founder-led companies and family enterprises, power tends to accumulate organically. Early employees are granted informal authority based on trust, execution ability, or proximity. Titles may remain ambiguous. Boundaries are loosely defined. Decision-making is fast but undocumented. This flexibility can serve the business well in its earliest stages. Over time, however, unstructured authority invites interpretation, and interpretation invites politics.
